Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors Offers Basic Training for Tulsa Area High School Athletes

The Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors are looking for motivated and committed high school aged athletes to join their competitive program. The program is offering a basic training for beginners to the sport the week of August 30th to September 3rd. The basic training session will take place at the Tulsa Rowing Club on the west bank of the Arkansas just north of the 21st bridge. Sessions will run Monday through Friday from 4:15pm to 6:15pm. The cost for the basic training is $100. Interested participants can register for the training online at www.tulsajuniorsrowing.org.

Participants in the basic training will learn rowing technique, boat handling and safety aspects to the sport in preparation for competitive events this fall.

The Tulsa Rowing Club facilitates competitive and recreational rowing for youth and adults. Competitive youth and club teams compete throughout the Midwest and on the national level. The youth competitive team has forty members and a middle school recreational program for 7th and 8th graders is also offered for a further 15 athletes. The team regularly competes on the national level and athletes are successful in gaining college scholarships at universities all over the US. Most recently, the club earned two invitations to the USRowing Youth National Championship Regatta.
